In recognition of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the Karen Society of Nebraska (KSN) & Nebraska Extension invite you to the “2023 Virtual Health Summit: A Webinar Focusing on the Health of Asian Populations” on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 12pm CT.
The Speakers will focus on the Asian community as they present demographic information, health data, discuss challenges and strategies related to prevention, and address how mental health has impacted Asian populations. This webinar will provide healthcare leaders, health equity advocates and other key stakeholders with information and perspectives on how to best serve the AAPI community.

Since 2018, Dr. Josie Schafer has been the Director of the Center for Public Affairs Research (CPAR) at the University of Nebraska Omaha.
Recent Nebraska projects led by Dr. Schafer are related to entrepreneurship, workforce development, youth, rural transit and policy analyses for the Planning Committee of the Nebraska State Legislature.

Since 2007, Anthony Zhang has served as the Epidemiology Surveillance Coordinator for the Nebraska DHHS Office of Health Disparities and Health Equity.
Mr. Zhang is responsible for data-collection efforts on minority health in Nebraska. This includes analyzing and evaluating health and socioeconomic data, as well as interpreting and presenting research findings to community and professional audiences.
Jennifer Liu, MD, MPH
University of Nebraska Medical Center
Dr. Jennifer Liu is an assistant professor in the UNMC Department of Family Medicine who practices at Nebraska Medicine’s Millard Health Clinic.
Dr. Liu is on the faculty advisory board for the UNMC SHARING Clinic. She leads the Enhanced Medical Education Track for medical students interested in working with underserved communities, and volunteers with Healing Gift - a free clinic in Omaha, Nebraska.
Ahsan Naseem, MD, MBA
Bryan Psychiatry, Bryan Health
Dr. Ahsan Naseem is dual board-certified psychiatrist in both Adult and Geriatric Psychiatry.
For the past six years, Dr. Naseem has served as the Medical Director of Bryan Psychiatry at Bryan Health Network where he provides direct oversight for different types of patient care while engaged in program development and expansion of services.
For twelve years, he has also served as a partner at Cheney Psychiatric Associates -- growing from a three-person practice to one of the larger psychiatric groups in Lincoln, NE.
